ost of 2008 and early 2009 took the Creative Surfaces team to West Palm Beach, Florida. When the city of West Palm Beach decided to build a new courthouse, we were thrilled to assist them with the project. Early in 2008, our staff went to work on designing the casework for this five story building. Our production team built all the cabinetry for every room on every floor. This included reception and staff desks, conference room, file/production room, children’s play room, the city center garage ticket booth and much more. We used a combination of 10 Wilsonart laminate colors for the file drawers and cabinets with adjustable shelving. More than 50,400 square feet of laminate products were used throughout this project. The reception desk has a unique bubble wall recessed into the front of the desk with color-changing LED lighting filters. To construct the desk we used a brushed stainless steel laminate and Formica solid surface. You’ll find Cambria “Cambrian Black” countertops on the circular information desk that has a 40’ radius. Each floor was a project in the making and installed one at a time. A year long project, but one with a lot of creativity and uniqueness.
