Showcasing the Loot

creative Surfaces, Inc. is working with Konami Gaming to help them promote their “Pirate’s Loot” video game.

This nine-foot wide double-sided sign was fabricated in our Sioux Falls, SD plant. Gloss black sign cabinets frame the backlit game faces. Colored chasing lights and 42” LCD screens add movement and excitement

spaceto the gaming action. Small treasure chests on the ends contain sparkling jewels. Yellow neon hugs the shape of the sign can.

This sign was recently set up at Terrible’s Casino in LaGrange, MO by our team of installers. Plans are being finalized for more “Pirates Loot” signs for Konami Gaming.

it takes a skilled team to build these complex gaming signs. We have our own in-house “tube bender” who shapes and works the glass into the bright neon you see on the finished casino sign above.

The neon begins as a fragile glass tube that is twirled in a hot blue flame as the glass artist breathes through the connecting umbilical in his lips. He needs to breathe just the proper amount of air into the tube to keep it from collapsing or expanding. When the tube is almost limp and the color is right, it is transferred to a table where it is shaped to the pattern beneath it. The glass tubes are purged of impurities and filled with rare gases.

Other craftsmen — metal fabricators, welders, electricians, spray painters and plastic fabricators —
will blend their skills with those of the glass artist to complete these unique works of art.
