Today we will take a little trip to the north end of this beautiful city to visit an older home recently remodeled with lovely natural stone countertops from Cambria. The home was built in 1904 in the Cathedral Historic District area. A six bedroom home with many ornate features throughout. It has high ceilings with a built-in hutch, a grand living room and fireplace for those cold wintery nights. The floors are real maple with birch woodwork throughout. It’s home you could fall in love with easily at first sight.
The homeowner had now raised their children and were ready to give the home a fresh look without taking away the character and history of the home. They decided to start in the kitchen as it’s where the family gathers and she loves to cook and bake. Rather than removing all the cabinets, they chose to paint the cabinets white and add new hardware. The sink that was once along the wall cabinets has been changed to a farm sink and moved under the window. This gives the homeowner a much nicer view while doing the dishes. Her gas stove has been changed to a gas cooktop.
The home has old heat radiators and exposed pipes in the kitchen which was a little tricky for measuring, cutting and installing their new countertops. They chose Cambria Beaumont natural stone countertops to complete the kitchen remodel. Beaumont is soft swirls of warm cream and beige accented with shimmering gold and crystal-white veining to create a gracious and welcoming effect. Throughout the kitchen including the baker’s corner and coffee bar you’ll find Beaumont – it’s the perfect design for this kitchen remodel.
