POET History Wall - Sioux Falls, SD
It was back in 2011 when collaboratively POET and Creative Surfaces sat down and discussed the history of POET. Through these various discussions a “Company History Wall” at POET was born.
About the project…
First step, Creative Surfaces had to remove the existing wall panels and hardware to prep the wall for signage, artwork, graphics, and monitor. Once the old wall panels were removed we were then able to install new 3/4″ panels of Maple veneer on a vertical grain with 1″ black laminate reveals between the panels to crate a 22.5′ wall.
The “swoosh” accent panel is 3/4″ Chemetal “Brushed Aluminum” with a 3/4″ MDF accent panel painted green mounted to the Chemetal. The wall recaps POET history from their early beginnings in 1987. The wall contains Chemetal plaques with etched or screen printed lettering and flush mounted, metal rods mounted on wall panels with 2 1/2″ returns. The years are 1/4″ black plexi laser cut numbers with Chemetal faces flush mounted to the wall. The shovel, ears of corn, beakers, and hard hat are mounted to the 3/4″ graphic panels of black PVC using stand-off pins.
We created a 3.25′ POET sign of 1/4″ black plexi laser cut letters with Brushed Aluminum Chemetal faces, adhered directly to the wood panels. The monitor surround has a 3/4″ MDF face frame painted green and hangs on the monitor cabinet made of light gauge steel and painted black.
