EmBe - Sioux Falls SD

In April, 2013, the Sioux Falls YWCA changed its’ name from the YWCA to EmBe… Empowering You To Be!   With this name change came a new look on the inside and outside of EmBe.  Creative Surfaces was thrilled to be a part of this name change by providing the creative skills of our talented craftsmen and helped design a new custom built reception desk & cabinetry as well as interior and exterior signage.  Both locations:  EmBe Avera downtown and EmBe Avera south received monument and building signage.

The custom built cabinetry involved a new lobby desk which we built using Formica “Brite White” plastic laminate for the cabinets; the half wall face and sides are Wilsonart “Vapor Strandz” plastic laminate.  On the lower countertop we used Formica “Dolce Vita” and Cambria “Durham” quartz on the upper transaction top with a 4cm edge.

At the downtown location, for the interior lobby logo sign we laser cut the letters “EmBe” from 16GA steel.  Then we painted the letters pink, purple, and green and flush mounted them to the wall with PEM studs.  “Empowering You To Be” are pink and purple vinyl letters applied to the sheetrock wall.  On the exterior building sign downtown, we removed the 4 1/2′ x 4 3/4′ high center aluminum panels that previously had YWCA letters AND replaced them to new aluminum panels with laser cut letters “EmBe”.  The monument sign at the downtown location is a reface of the existing 6 1/2′ x 16″ sign face where “EmBe” is vinyl graphics on white Lexan.

Moving to the EmBe Avera south locaton we refaced the 11 1/2′ x 4 1/2′ high monument sign with white vinyl graphics mounted to Lexan.   Here we also added a lobby sign to an existing curved partition wall.  The top accent stripes are white vinyl graphics stuck to the wall; “EmBe” is dimensional letters painted to match the logo colors and flush mounted to the wall.
