Hyatt Place - Downtown Minneapolis MN
The new Hyatt Place in downtown Minneapolis opened in October 2013 and Creative Surfaces was thrilled to be a part of the new hotel. Walk into the lobby on 6th floor of this hotel and you’ll be “wowed” by the beauty of Cambria quartz surfaces and wood veneer panels used throughout the hotel.
As you enter, first thing you will notice is the reception desk all decked out using 4cm Cambria Victoria on the transaction top and lower countertop. The face of the desk and all cabinets are wood veneer with black melamine interiors. The top of the desk has four cut-outs in the stone with glass inserts for check-in monitors. Across the lobby from the reception desk is a comfortable waiting area and business center for hotel guests. Four desks with metal trays were custom built with wood veneer and Cambria Yorkshire countertops. We also created several Communal Tables with solid maple legs and apron boxes and finished them with Cambria Yorkshire tops.
As you move through this hotel you will notice we used wood veneer consistently throughout the entire project including the reception desk back wall, lobby bar, breakfast bar and dining areas, and the sunroom. All the veneer was stained to match Wilsonart “Nepal Teak”. In the hotel lobby bar we put Cambria Victoria on the countertops and Hanex “Navajo” solid surface on the half wall caps. Two large tables in the bar that comfortably seat 10 people each as they enjoy lunch and watch their favorite game on a 200″ screen are completed with Yorkshire countertops.
In the breakfast area, we custom designed these cabinets and used Cambria Ashford for the countertops. These cabinets have counter cut-outs for equipment, adjustable shelving for dishware, and sneezeguards. All the cabinets in this area have 5 panel doors from Walzcraft and black melamine interiors except those with glass inserts. The upper cabinets have an upper and lower valance to accommodate both above and under cabinet lighting.
The work area and staff breakroom cabinets are made using Wilsonart “Shaker Cherry” plastic laminate with white melamine interiors. Wilsonart “Pewter Brush” plastic laminate is used in the work area; Wilsonart “Tawny White” in the staff breakroom countertops.
Need to conduct some business meetings while visiting? The meeting rooms have wood veneer cabinets stained to match Sherwin Williams “Black Bean” with black melamine interiors and Cambria Victoria countetops. The public area restrooms utilized the same wood veneer “Black Bean” and also have Cambria Victoria.
We built all the vanities in the guest rooms using stained wood veneer to match Wilsonart “Nepal Teak”. All countertops in the guest rooms are granite (provided by others).
