SpringHill Suites Marriot - Sioux Falls, SD
Creative Surfaces – a Hotel Cabinetry, Millwork & Fixtures manufacturer “goes green” with fixtures and surfaces for the new SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Sioux Falls, SD.
The quartz countertops in this project are made using Cambria, a stain-resistant, non-porous natural quartz surfaces. It is harder, stronger and easier to care for than other stone surfaces and Cambria does not require any sealing. Cambria has received both GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality and GREENGUARD for Children and School certifications. NSF International has certified Cambria as a safe surface for food preparation in commercial and residential kitchens.
All the Wilsonart laminates used in this project have been awarded the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. This ensures that Wilsonart lamiantes can be used as a furniture surface to obtain a credit for Low-Emitting Office Furniture in the Indoor Environmental Quality Section of the LEED-CI Rating System (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors).
The 3form Varia translucent panels on the registration desk contain a high percentage of recycled materials. The “Natural Teak” wood veneer in the “market snack shop” is Treefrog by Chemetal. Treefrog is a member of 1% For The Planet (an alliance of companies that donate at leasts 1% of their annual sales to environmental organizations).
The wall surround the elevators is a seamless system of sculptural panels with interlocking joints. This new feature ensures accurate panel-to-panel alignment in all directions. These panels from ModularArts are created from a mineral-composite for a hard-as-a-rock surface that is non-combustible. The materials contains no plastics, no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and no urea-formaldehyde.
