The Lodge at Deadwood
Heading to western South Dakota? Make sure you spend some time in Deadwood at the town’s newest casino, The Lodge at Deadwood. Creative Surfaces designed, built and installed this project. The breakroom, refreshment counter and bar, player’s club workstation, retail display cases, cash counter with hat case are all constructed using Formica plastic laminate “Acajou Mahagony” on the half walls and exterior of displays. All countertop surfaces are Corian solid surface “Black Quartz”, and we used Chemetal “Brushed Aluminum” for accents and toekicks. The display cases in the gift shop have adjustable glass shelving with slatwall ends, puck lighting and locking casters for easy mobility.
When you get to the casino floor, notice all the directional signage and game signs – Plinko, Gold Miner, Penny Land, Jewel of the Isle, Jackpot Fever and Deadwood Legends. All were designed and built in our plant in Sioux Falls, SD. Several of the signs are 3D, featuring backlit graphics, neon, edgelit glass and push thru letters. Take a closer look at the sculpted foam imitation handguns on the Deadwood Legends sign and the sculpted globe on the Penny Land sign created from bent metal with traveling white LEDs. The rocks on the Gold Miner sign is constructed of sculpted sign foam and completed with a museum quality resin figure with glass eyes and custom implanted beard. Before you leave, remember to try your luck at Plinko – it’s been the biggest hit of the casino.
