Gold’s Gym

Calgary, Canada

Today we will travel to Calgary, Canada and take a tour of the Gold’s Gym we completed showcasing fitness center custom cabinets and signage.  Let’s take a peek at the various elements we did for this gym.

  • the check-in desk
  • Gold’s Gym brand signage
  • vestibule/entry planter boxes
  • history wall
  • metal fence
  • locker room lockers
  • retail displays

The check-in desk is built using maple UV coated plywood on the exterior cabinets with black melamine interiors.  For the upper and lower countertops we used Corian Dupont “Ash Concrete” solid surface.  The face of the half wall is Materials Inc “Aria Beton Vision” rough finish.  It has the look of thin concrete sheets.

The brand signage on the front desk is a 24″ x 24″ non-lit sign 1/2″ thick black PVC mounted on backer board.  The faces are digitally printed vinyl.

The history wall is constructed of 23″ x 23″ panels of 3/4″ thick pine plywood with pine edge banding on all sides.  Some panels showcase direct printed graphics on the faces.  Panels are spaced 1″ apart to expose painted reveals.  The completed wall is 196″ x 143″ floor to ceiling.

We built three planter boxes for the vestibule/entry of the gym.  These are built using 3/4″ thick pine plywood with clear finish on the exteriors.  The interiors are Formica “Black” plastic laminate.

The metal fence features 2″ x 2″ tube steel posts and rails.  The steel wire mesh is welded to the tube steel.

The men’s and women’s locker rooms feature 125 double stack lockers.  They are built using Formica “Natural Birch” plastic laminate with white melamine interiors.  Each locker has a coat hook and matte black locker pulls.

The retail display is another element of fitness center custom cabinets.  This structure is a free standing double bay unit.  The cabinet is a 48″ unit with 1×2″ steel rec tube frame with mesh inserts.  The soffit and base cabinets are Maple UV coated plywood.
