It was a busy summer for our team of production staff as they spent time on hotel cabinet manufacturing for the Hyatt Place in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota.
This new hotel project involved several spaces with a variety of different elements. Lets take a look inside this beautiful new hotel and check out the special elements we selected for each space.

For these cabinets and millwork we used a combination of laminate and wood species. These include:
- Formica Decometal “Brushed Umbra”
- Formica “Graystone” plastic laminate
- Wilsonart “Landmark Wood”
- Wilsonart “Daintree”
- Formica “Silver Riftwood”
- Lab Design “Rugged Expedition”
For the host/reception desk and retail center, business center cabinets and millwork, the towel cabinet, banquet cabinets and counters, and guest dining breakfast bar we used Wilsonart “Daintree” on the cabinet exteriors and open/exposed cabinet interiors.
On the reception desk hood and sides we used the product Chemetal “Deep Bronze Aluminum”; the hood top and face is 5/16″ Bronze Mirror. The accent walls (3x) are made of Black Hills Boulder panels mounted to the face of the desk. The countertop in all areas is 2cm Hausys Viatera “Soprano”.
In the business center we used Wilsonart “Daintree” on the cabinet exteriors and open/exposed cabinets. The wall unit showcases lower cabinets of WA “Daintree” with open squares. The completed structure is a 15.5″ x 9′ with vertical dividers doweled to create horizontal shelves. The open squares feature LED down lighting; some squares feature Formica Decometal “Brushed Umbra” fixed back panels.
The fitness center showcases a built in wall screen using poplar wood painted Sherwin Williams “Cloak Grey”.
The lounge/bench console is made using Lab Designs “Rugged Expedition” with warm white LED lighting. The lounge communal tables are constructed using Chemetal “Deep Bronze Aluminum” on the angled table legs and support panel. The countertop is Formica “Silver Riftwood”. The tables have built-in power/USB ports.
Lets move to other areas of hotel cabinet manufacturing completed by Creative Surfaces. The front & back bar is built using fun elements. The face of the front bar is FRP Marlite “Black Pebbled Surface”. The back bar cabinets are Wilsonart “Daintree” with locking doors. The horizontal shelves/counters are Wilsonart “Daintree” with Formical Decometal “Brushed Umbra” partial back, and LED lighting.
Guest bussing stations and guest kitchen utilities cabinets are built using Wilsonart “Daintree” plastic laminate throughout with Cambria “Malvern” quartz countertops.
The vanities in all restrooms are Formica “Silver Riftwood”. The aprons and supports are Cambria “Malvern”.
Window sills (9 of them) throughout the hotel lobby space are LG Hi-Macs “Andromeda” solid surface.
