Retro Fitness in Stafford, TX recently opened their doors showcasing high-end fitness center custom millwork, cabinetry, and branding. This project kept our team of craftsmen quite busy creating cabinets using special elements. Allow me to share with you some of these unique elements:
- Arborite “Sulawesi Hazel” plastic laminate
- Solid Poplar wood stained to match “Pinnacle Walnut”
- Formica “Hazel Walnut” plastic laminate
- Cambria Quartz products
Now, we will take a quick look into the various spaces within Retro Fitness to see specifically what elements we used in each area:
The juice/check-in and back bar. All of these cabinets and fitness center custom millwork are made using Arborite “Sulawesi Hazel” plastic laminate on cabinet exteriors. The countertops are 4cm Cambria “Newport” quartz.
For the retail display we used Arborite “Sulawesi Hazel” with Wilsonart “Battleship” for the countertops. The custom display frame features adjustable steel shelving. The PRO SHOP signage is a 61″ x 8″ high sign. Letters are 1/2″ PVC painted “Stock Silver”, and mounted to a sheetmetal sign can powdercoated “Silver Metallic”. The complete unit is mounted to the wall using Z-clip brackets.
All of the mirrors throughout the fitness center are custom framed with solid Poplar stained to match Sherwin Williams “Pinnacle Walnut”.
The spa recovery area decorative screens are 2 layers of 3/4″ raw MDF painted Sherwin Williams “Extra White”. Mounted to the ceiling and floor using Eagle Moulding channels powdercoated “Silver”.
Other spaces featuring fitness center custom millwork include the men’s and women’s wet/dry vanities, the toilet partitions, and lockers are made using Formica “Hazel Walnut” plastic laminate with 2cm Cambria “Whitehall” quartz countertops. The lockers feature coat hooks, locks, and locker numbers with a light valance above all.
The entry showcases a guardrail. This unit is made using 2″ x 2″ posts with welded 2″ footrail powdercoated “Cardinal Silver”. 3/16″ aircraft cable is strung between posts. The countertops is Cambria “Newport” quartz.
The “Rules”, “Group Class Etiquette”, and “Health Club Code” interior signage is 1/4″ red PVC with digitally printed graphics stuck to the face of the PVC
