Summer of 2021 our team of installers spent time in Wellington, Florida installing fitness center millwork for the new Retro Fitness center.
This fitness center project involved the check-in counter/juice bar, trainer’s desk, zen den/spa recovery screens, studio storage cabinets, slam wall, a mezzanine ceiling feature, mirror frames, restroom vanities and interior signs. Let’s take a peek…
The check-in/juice bar cabinets are made using Arborite “Sulawesi Hazel” plastic laminate with Cambria “Foggy City” quartz countertops and backsplash. Around the corner is a 13′ four station trainer’s desk of 4cm Cambria “White Cliff” quartz.
Upon entrance to the gym there is a guardrail along the left side of the lobby area. This rail is 21′ long. The frame support is 2″ x 2″ steel tubing powder coated “Cardinal Silver” with 3/16″ aircraft cable between posts. The countertops are Cambria “Foggy City” quartz.
The Zen Den (spa recovery area) features divider screens. These are 8′ tall x 4.5′ wide. They are 2 layers of 3/4″ MDF painted Sherwin Williams “Extra White” glossy. The screens are set into an aluminum base shoe; the top is mounted to an u-channel header.
The slam wall is a 20′ x 10′ wall built using Colchester Oak solid hardwood plank flooring. In the mezzanine we installed a floating ceiling structure 30′ x 18′ of wood slats. The slats are 2″ x 8″ select grade lumber painted Benjamin Moore “Super White” hung 24″ apart. re
There are seven large wall mirrors throughout the gym. These are varying sizes; the frames are 4″ poplar trim stained Sherwin Williams “Pinnacle Walnut”.
The locker rooms showcase wet and dry vanities with Cambria “White Cliff” quartz countertops. The bathroom partitions are Arborite “Sulawesi Hazel” plastic laminate. The benches are covered in red leather.
In the studio room we built an equipment storage cabinet. This cabinet is 56″ tall plywood panels with birch veneer edge banding and splined together with clean finish.
In addition to the fitness center use millwork, we did the interior signage for the M/W locker rooms, H2O, and Zen Den. These are made of 9mm acrylic panels with 3/16″ black acrylic letters and brown aluminum faces.
