The Heights USD

Vermillion, SD

Early 2019, we were fortunate to partner with Eagle Construction on this modern day student housing project at USD Vermillion, SD.  On this project we designed, built and installed the custom student housing cabinets throughout.  The main floor lobby area is the real focal point and gathering area with a meeting room, fireplace, reception desk and bar/gaming area that all lead to an outdoor lounge bar with pool, lawn games and a 20′ outdoor TV to watch their favorite team on TV – USD Coyotes.

The reception desk is  built using Formica “Black” on the desk and hood; the countertop is Cambria “Brittanicca” quartz.  The bar/gaming area with a U-shaped bar including two computer stations and mailroom counters is made using Formica “Storm” (gloss finish) with VT “Geoscapes” quartz on countertops and backsplash.

In the beautiful ground level gathering space you’ll find a fireplace and large TV wall with a sitting ledge below the TV.  The fireplace hearth and sitting ledge are both made using Cambria “Carrick” quartz.

Move to the outdoor lounge area where you’ll find another gathering area for socializing and watching TV on the 20′ outdoor screen.  This L-shaped bar half wall we used 3/4″ thick plywood with Formica “Storm” on the exterior face; Cambria “Snowdon White” quartz for countertops.  The building has four floors all of which have public restrooms and kitchenettes.  In the kitchens we used Formica “Storm” on the cabinets and Fuzion Stone Mandy Li quartz GW871 for the countertops.  In the bathrooms the countertops and aprons are also Mandy Li quartz.

All of the individual student living units (apartments) are one, two and four student units.  They have a full service kitchen, bath, and student bedrooms.  The kitchens are Grandview Vancouver Maple cabinets with “Coffee” stain.  All countertops are Mandy Li quartz.

Creative Surfaces is a one-stop-shop for all your custom student housing cabinets, countertops and fun-filled spaces when your next project involves campus living apartments.
